The CALM Matrix is designed to focus the users’ thoughts on where they are in their life path so they can set meaningful goals leading to excellent work experiences, paid employment and community inclusion. 

The CALM Matrix is divided into four service categories with corresponding subcategories:

  • Workforce (ex: Education, Skills, Experience, Employment and Income)
  • Financial (ex: Money Management, Savings and Investing, Credit Management)
  • Work Supports (ex: Housing, Transportation, Family Care, Food Nutrition and Exercise, Clothing and Grooming)

Digital Skills Assessments

Digital skills include the knowledge, skills, and abilities you have about digital technologies.

Northstar Digital Literacy Assessments

Northstar Digital Literacy is an online tool that helps you assess your basic skills needed to use a computer and the internet in daily life, employment and higher education. Free assessments are available for essential computer skills, essential software and productivity skills, and using technology in daily life.

As a test taker, you can receive digital “badges” when you pass assessments and even earn certificates when you pass assessments. To earn a credential, you will need to test in person at a Goodwill Northstar testing location.
