“Join the Team that’s Changing Lives!” Message to Appear at Astros’ Games
As 2018’s baseball season gets underway, Goodwill Houston and the Houston Astros will be entering their fourth year of partnership. Goodwill‘s messaging will appear electronically at Minute Maid Park this season, on the LED boards, during selected games.
“Each season we try to do things a bit differently. This time, it’s an invitation for fans to ‘Join the team that’s changing lives!’ With this message, we are asking for the community’s support of our education and job training programs,” explained Kym King, Goodwill Houston’s VP of Public affairs and Community Engagement. “Our partnership with the Astros means so much to us,” adds King. “Both of our organizations care deeply about this city we call home — and we share a passion for serving military veterans and youth.”
Matt Brand, Senior VP of Corporate Partnerships for the Houston Astros, believes that Goodwill has emerged as a nonprofit leader over seven decades in Houston because of its strong ties to the community and its approach to collaborative partnerships. “Goodwill is fantastic to work with from the top down, and our partnership is unique and valuable,” Brand said. “We love helping them amplify their brand and sharing our resources. We have all known Goodwill since we were little kids, and it’s definitely a blue-chip nonprofit. It represents the best of what we are as Houstonians – giving back to help others.”
