Through our volunteer program, we offer fun, hands-on opportunities to get involved and make a meaningful impact in the Houston community. Whether you are an individual interested in getting more involved in the community or a group looking to work together and make a difference, Goodwill Houston has an opportunity for you! Volunteers are always needed in the production and donation areas of our retail stores. Duties include assisting with donations, working in the production area, and representing Goodwill through Customer Service. We also have volunteer opportunities available through our Workforce Development programs.
There are 64 store locations in and around the Houston area; the proceeds from these stores help fund Goodwill’s employment and training programs.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to volunteer on their own. Volunteers between 12-15 years of age must be accompanied by an adult, who will also need to apply.
Groups are limited to 5 individuals per shift. If you have a larger group, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about how we can accommodate you.
We welcome the following types of volunteers:
Monday – Saturday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Sunday: 12:00pm – 6:00pm
All other volunteers, sign up via our Goodwill Houston Volunteer Portal. Once you have been approved to volunteer, you will receive an email containing your username and password to log in to the portal. You can find the login at top of the portal page, under “Registered Client Sign In”. Once logged in, you will be able to view and sign up for shifts.
