Houston, TX — December 5, 2025 – Goodwill Houston is proud to announce the launch of its newest career pathway under the Goodwill Clean Tech Accelerator (GCTA): the Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Installer Trainee Program beginning January 2026. This program prepares participants for one of the nation’s fastest-growing clean energy fields as demand for electric vehicle infrastructure surges nationwide.
The U.S. clean energy sector is booming, with job growth projected to triple by the mid-2030s. Nearly 40% of clean energy roles do not require a college degree, yet employers across the country face a shortage of trained talent. The GCTA is designed to close this gap by providing intensive, in-person, multi-week, certification-based training that leads directly to employment and long-term career pathways.
Goodwill Houston is also making history as the first Goodwill site in the country to offer all three Clean Energy Career Pathways, including: HVAC/Heat Pump Installation, Solar Installation & EVSE Technician.
“At Goodwill Houston, we believe every person deserves the opportunity to build a brighter future. Through our career pathways, from job training and upskilling to certifications and employment support, we empower individuals to strengthen their skills, and step into meaningful, sustainable careers.” said Denetria Hulin, Director of Education and Training/Vocational Rehabilitation Houston Academy of Career Development.
The EVSE Installer Trainee program will prepare participants to work with electric vehicle charging systems, gaining hands-on skills in installation, safety protocols, site preparation, and system testing. Graduates will be equipped to pursue entry-level technician roles with competitive wages and strong opportunities for advancement. The deadline to enroll is December 15, 2025.
