Rice Students Spring Break With Goodwill Houston
Thursday, April 16, 2015
Goodwill Houston welcomed Rice University students to the corporate headquarters during a season most college students spend as far away from business as possible; Spring Break. Six Rice students with a passion for understanding non-profits chose to tour Goodwill Houston’s Swain Center, meet key executives, and see a Job Center in action on March 25th. “We appreciate having such talented minds focus on our mission and our business model. These students are the leaders who’ll be coming up with new ways to serve the challenged populations of the decades to come.” said Steve Lufburrow, Goodwill President and CEO.
On hand to tell the students why they work at Goodwill Houston were Lufburrow, VP & CFO Tony Van Slyke, Compliance & Accreditation Senior Manager Emily Connor and Public Relations Director Kym King. The Rice students’ hometowns ranged from right down the road in Sugar Land, Texas to countries like Columbia and Korea.
