Goodwill’s Newest Store Opens in Brenham

Goodwill Industries of Houston is happy to announce that their Brenham store is now open for business.

“We are very proud to be a part of Brenham, and serving Washington County-- the birthplace of Texas,” said Goodwill Houston’s President/CEO Steve Lufburrow. “We’re excited about bringing at least 20 new jobs to the area. These jobs help strengthen families and boost the local economy.”

Goodwill sells gently-used clothing and household items donated by the public in order to fund its job training and placement services. While assistance is available to anyone looking for work, the non-profit specializes in assisting people with disabilities, at risk-youth, the elderly, and veterans. The Brenham location is Goodwill’s sixty-fifth store in the Greater Houston Area, and its first in Washington County.

The new store features an interactive kiosk that the public can use to apply for jobs at Goodwill. There is also a drive-through donation center. Curbside drop-off and access to their computerized donation receipt tracking system makes donating easier than ever.

“Goodwill is a great place to shop for clothing, home decor, collectibles, books, movies, and much more.” said Charles Canton, Vice President of Donated Goods Retail, “We stock new items every day, so you never know what treasures and bargains you will find.”

“We believe that Goodwill will have a lasting, positive impact in Brenham,” Lufburrow said.

The store is located at 2804 Wood Ridge Boulevard, at the corner of TX-290 and Highway 36. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon-6 p.m. on Sunday.

Goodwill improves the lives of individuals, families and communities by providing education, training and employment opportunities to all, while specializing in assisting people with disabilities, at-risk youth, older workers and veterans. Goodwill Houston is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that proudly serves the citizens of eight Texas counties—Austin, Brazoria, Ft. Bend, Galveston, Harris, Montgomery, Walker and Washington.
